The CFP® exam is offered three times per year. Planning your study timeline around these windows — and choosing a PlannerPrep membership length that covers your target date — is the single easiest way to avoid losing access mid-study.

• Sitting within the next year? Silver’s 1-year access comfortably covers your study window at the lower price.
• Sitting more than a year out, or unsure of your exact date? Gold’s 2-year window gives you the most flexibility if your timeline shifts — and costs less per year of access than Silver.

Registration Tips

• Register early — testing centers and preferred time slots fill up, especially in the weeks closest to the deadline.
• Build in a buffer between when you plan to finish studying and your actual exam date, in case life gets in the way.
• If your exam date changes after you’ve started a PlannerPrep membership, you can upgrade tiers for more runway
